QECC Resources...

Lower School Library

Our Lower School Librarian is Angie Tancock .

In the library you can borrow books, read magazines and periodicals, borrow story tapes and CD Roms or do your homework. It is open before school from 8.30am, at lunchtime and breaks and after school until 5.00pm.

There are also computers to use, but these have to be booked beforehand. You can also buy stationery and pens at really cheap prices.

About twice a term there is a sweet and stationery sale and at Christmas there is a Christmas Fayre and lots of Christmas activities.

In year 8 you can apply to become a Library Assistant and help out at lunch times and at break.

Each Friday at lunchtime there is a story-time session at 12.50pm. This will be followed by activities based on the theme of the story on Monday to Thursday lunchtimes of the following week.

CONNECT

This paragraph was written by Jamie and Amy from Connect:

Thursday and Friday lunchtimes....the fun is on! CONNECT (who may have visited you in primary school), run lunchtime activities on these days in L5 (RE room).  On Thursdays we meet for TGL (Thursday Games League)....basically just have loads of fun, win prizes and if your name is at the top of the league at the end of each term, you get a great prize (e.g. cinema tickets).  Games include UNO, advanced Connect 4, Phase 10, Top Trumps, and other fun stuff.

On Fridays we have more of a Christian based club, but it is open to everyone of any background.  We just chat about different issues that you wanna chat about; watch videos; play games and celebrate your birthdays in style!

We also run a drop-in at the upper school in E10 on Wednesday lunchtime so just come along and have a chat and discuss whatever you want!

We also sometimes pop up in assembly, and in some of your lessons to.  Look forward to seeing you at QE!

Cheers, Amy & Jamie  (next year look out for the new Connect worker who will be replacing Amy).
